Dave Ellis, CMI®: A Passionate Home Inspector with Decades of Experience
Dave Ellis, CMI®, is the owner and primary inspector at Ace Home Inspection, proudly serving Greater Knoxville, Sevierville/Pigeon Forge, and parts of Middle Tennessee. With over 20 years of combined experience in the trades and home inspection, Dave brings a depth of knowledge that few in the industry can match. Having worked in construction on and off since childhood, Dave has developed a strong foundation early on that continues to inform his work today.
Dave became a homeowner and real estate investor shortly after high school, where he also spent time at a construction defect law firm and saw firsthand the consequences of poor building practices. But after deciding that the legal profession wasn’t for him, he returned to the trades and began taking on his own real estate projects, successfully flipping homes in his spare time. In 2015, he became a full-time inspector where he helped a small multi-inspector firm become a leader in the region and found a passion for helping homebuyers.
As a Certified Master Inspector®, Dave has completed thousands of property inspections—from single and multi-family properties to commercial buildings, plus ancillary services like sewer scope inspections, radon, well water testing and mold sampling. Ace Home Inspection was founded in 2024 with the belief that details matter, that experience makes a difference in identifying those details, and that every inspection deserves a dedication to thoroughness. Known for his attention to detail and clear communication, Dave delivers comprehensive same-day reports, helping clients make confident, informed decisions when it matters most.
